Spend Time with Jim
As part of the Jim Kilpatrick
Roadshow at Todds Bar in Glasgow during Worlds week, Jim will be
hosting a free 'Spend Time with Jim'
seminar.
If you come along
to the main hall between 2 & 3 PM on Thursday 14 August, 2008, you
will be able to meet Jim in person and hear his perspective on many
topics including drum corps set up and technique.
Jim will also have
the new Premier HTS800 snare drum with him, which will be available
to try out.
Everyone is welcome
and remember, it's free!
Jim Kilpatrick Roadshow Ready to
Go!
With the World Pipe Band Championships rapidly approaching, the Jim
Kilpatrick Percussion Roadshow is getting ready to head to Todds Bar
for the duration of Worlds week.
An annual fixture
at Todds Bar now, Jim will be on hand with the expected vast range
of pipe band drumming products and advice that drummers crave in the
lead up to the biggest competition of the year.
The roadshow shop
will have the full range of KP drum sticks, tuning blocks, bass
mallets, TyFry tenor mallets, Remo drum heads and many other
favourite essentials available.

Shotts Corps Wins Scottish
Championships
The
drum corps of The
House of Edgar Shotts & Dykehead Pipe Band led by Jim Kilpatrick
MBE took the first major honour of the 2008 season by winning the
Best Drum Corps award at the Scottish Pipe Band Championships, held
in Dumbarton on Saturday 24 May, 2008.

New tenor drummer in Jim's bass
section, Jasmine Jones (pictured above), collected the award on
behalf of the corps.
Innovation Raising The Bar In Canada
Jim Kilpatrick MBE,
Scott Currie & Tyler Fry have announced the launch of a new drumming
education and event promotions business Innovation
Promotions.

Innovation uses the punchline 'Raising the Bar' to describe what
the company intends to do for the standard of pipe band percussion
education around the world. The first event hosted by Innovation
will take place in the Western Ontario city of London on 3 & 4 May,
2008. An all-world champion line-up of instructors will teach two
days of drumming classes. Additionally, an invitational solo
drumming competition sponsored by drumming giants Premier & Remo
will take place on the evening of 3 May.

Jim Kilpatrick Percussion Worlds Road Show
Jim Kilpatrick
Percussion will once again
be in attendance at Todds Bar in the University of Strathclyde
throughout the
week leading up to the World Pipe Band Championships from 6th to
10th August, 2007.

We will be
exhibiting and selling all the top pipe band percussion products and
Jim will be on hand personally to support all bands with any drum
heads, sticks, beaters, accessories and spare parts that you or your
drum corps may need.

in the Conference Centre (adjacent to the Todd Bar) at the
University of Strathclyde from Monday to Friday before the Worlds
and welcomes anyone who just wants to pop in by to mix with drummers
from all over the world. Please

Jim's Live Earth SOS All-star Drummers
Live Earth's musical
director Andy Gangadeen invited Jim to gather a group of snare
drummers to participate in the opening ceremony of Live Earth on 7
July, 2007.
The one-off line-up
of 100 of the world's top drummers was called 'SOS All-stars' and
included The Dohl Foundation, Taiko drummers, Roger Taylor of Queen,
Chad Smith of Red Hot Chili Peppers and Taylor Hawkins of Foo
Fighters.
Jim's drum corps from
Shotts all played snare drum in a composition built around the SOS
morse code pattern (dit dit dit dash dash dash dit dit).

This was a once in a
never to be repeated once in a lifetime lifetime experience that was
broadcast to a global audience.
PASIC Appearance For Jim
Jim Kilpatrick MBE
hosted a marching percussion workshop at the
Percussive Arts
Society International Convention in Austin, Texas on Saturday 11
November, 2006. PASIC is the
largest percussion event in the world featuring over 150 concerts,
clinics, master classes, labs, workshops, panels and presentations.
The finest
artists from all over the world are invited to present and perform
at PASIC. The program showcases all areas of percussion, including:
drumset, marching, keyboard, symphonic, world, recreational,
education, music technology, new music, health & wellness.
